In The Public Eye [Part 1]

JUST IN! We've received news from one of our secret publicists on rapper Drake and the new up and coming artist, Nicki Minaj. It seems like these two are more than 'friends'. At one point, he was feeding her some of his meal, how cute. Pictures below...

Nicki sighed and closed down her laptop. It was nothing like what the tabloid reported. It was all her manager's idea which she didn't want to do but she really didn't have a choice. She fell back on her bed and closed her eyes as she thought about when the plan first came around...

"Interview and radio play of your new single done now you've got that meeting" Lydia, Nicki's assistant, checked off of her checklist.

"I have a meeting?"

"Yes with Mark, something about boosting your career"

"Hmm" Was all she said as she sat back and closed her eyes relaxing preparing for what was ahead. The car came to a stop outside universal headquarters. She slipped on her sunglasses just in case there was paparazzi about and there was. It was strange for her having grown men taking pictures of her everytime she was out but it was something she would have to get used to. Lydia talked to the receptionist to find out where the meeting was. It was in the main office so they had to take the elevator, in the elevator Nicki kept a straight face and silently chewed her gum. Nicki walked in first with Lydia behind her and noticed there was only 6 people there. She noticed her manager and Lil Wayne, a bodyguard, a young looking woman who she assumed was someones assistant and a man on his phone.

"You're here, take a seat" Mark said.

"I've got to sort out something but I'll be back soon" Lydia whispered in Nicki's ear before she disappeared, Nicki nodded at her and took a seat. She took of her glasses and put them on the table.

"So Nicki I want you to meet Drake, Drake I want you to meet Nicki" Drake looked at her and looked back at his phone. Nicki didn't even bother trying to greet him, she wasn't interested in him or was he interested in her. She knew all about him, well who didn't? He was probably the biggest star out, she liked his music but not him. He looked like a complete jerk to her and by the way he refused to greet her proved her point.

"And obviously you know Lil Wayne" Nicki smiled at him and did a shy wave. It was hard to keep her cool when someone she loved since she was younger was in the same room as her.

"Nice to meet you. Mark's been telling me all about you. I heard your new song and it's dope, definitely going to be number one" His sexy raspy voice said.

"Oh my God, thank you" Nicki said, silently spazzing out in her head. Drake just shook his head.

"Anyway back to business"

"Drake put that shit down for a minute" Wayne told him and he did.

"So both of you are in good placing regarding your careers. Nicki with her first single dropping today and her album in the works due to come out in a few months and Drake with your second album just coming out,"

"What are you getting at?" Nicki interrupted.

"So with that we figured to get you both more out there and get more media attention, you two should start to hang out and announce you're dating each other"

"You want me to what?" Nicki shouted across the table.

"Well you're just starting your career and Drake has been in the game for a while now so if you two 'date', imagine what could happen? You two could become the new Beyoncé and Jay Z of hip hop. You'll be helping each other out"

"I did not sign up for this shit!" Drake stated, giving her a look.

"Neither did I"

"Come on, it's not a big deal you're just making it one"

"But I don't want to date him, it being fake or not"

"Nicki, don't make it harder than it needs to be" Mark warned her.

Nicki closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Having a moment to think about everything surrounding the situation.

"I'll do it, how long do we have to date?"

"A year max" Mark said.

"We'll leave you two to discuss whatever but be out of here in 5" Wayne said and both of them walked out the door.

"I don't want to do this as much as you do but if it's going to make me more famous, I don't care. Give me your number and we can sort a few dates out and shit"

"What an asshole" Nicki thought to herself but nevertheless she gave him her number and he text her so she could have his.

"Blaze I'm ready" Drake told his bodyguard, he got up from his seat and left without saying another word to her.

"So how was it?" Lydia asked as she walked into the room.

"Horrible. This is not what I want!"

"Aren't you being the little diva?"

"That is so not funny" Nicki grabbed her bag and stormed out with Lydia following close behind her. She got in the car and stayed on her phone the whole journey to her house.

Nicki: :(
Keenan: What's wrong babe?
Nicki: Big head made a deal with Drake's manager and now I have to 'date' him for publicity.
Keenan: You'll be fine, I've got to go back to work but take care. Love you
Nicki: Love you too

Keenan was not her boyfriend. She went to school with him and even though he was older than her, they became friends and stayed that way even after they graduated. They were just friends for a while and slowly became close friends. They kissed once as a dare but it meant nothing or so they thought. Nicki had feelings for him but she would never tell him that, he was in a happy relationship and she was happy for him.

"We're here. Need help with your luggage, Miss Minaj?"

"I can handle it" Nicki opened the car door and stepped out. She secured her handbag in her shoulder and grabbed her small suitcase dragging it behind her. After unlocking the door, she raced up to her bedroom, dropped her bags and belly-flopped on her bed.

"Why?" She asked herself. She was left alone for about 5 minutes before a knock was heard and her door opened.

"We have things to discuss"

"Do it tomorrow" Nicki said into her satin sheets.

"But we need to,"

Nicki lifted her head up and turned towards Lydia. "I said do it tomorrow, I'm not in the mood"

"Fine" Lydia threw hands up giving up on the conversation and turned to go home.

"I'm sorry, I'm just angry about the Drake thing"

"I know, it'll be over before you know it" Lydia smiled and shut the door behind her.

"Maybe she's right" Nicki said when she heard the front door close. She sat up and grabbed her laptop from her bedside table. Once she was logged in, she decided to search herself and Drake via the internet and the first thing that came up was TMZ. She was impressed at how much they thought they knew about them, laughing to herself she scrolled down to read the comments.

'She can do so much better'

'What a hoe'

'Fake ass bitch'

'Why is he with her?!?!'

She shook the comments off, they didn't faze her one bit since she knew the truth. She checked another website that said that they thought they would be cute together which made Nicki almost puke all over. At the bottom was a poll.

Do you think they would make a cute couple?

Nicki wanting to see the results selected no and was shocked when it showed what others had voted.

Yes - 85%
No - 10%
Don't Care - 5%

Her phone beeped twice alerting her that she had a new message.

Asshole: Date next Saturday at 3pm. Don't be late.

~

The time was 1:45pm and the day was Saturday meaning today was their first official date. Her stylist had chosen a nice outfit; a pair of high waisted skinny jeans, a floral boob tube bralet and a simple pair of black peep toe heels. The restaurant was not that fancy so she didn't have to dress up but that didn't mean she was going to dress all casual.

"You've got 45 minutes before you need to go and I know you take forever to get ready so you best start now"

"It's strange how well you know me"

"I'm supposed to, aren't I?" They both chuckled. "I'm being serious though"

"Alright miss bossy boots, go on so I can"

Just under 40 minutes later, Nicki was ready. Her hair was straighten with her bangs out and makeup was simple, just a simple winged eyeliner on her eyelid and some on her lower lash line with a layer of fake eyelashes, and foundation with a bit of blusher.

Nicki came down the stairs and laughed at Lydia. "Ha"

"Oh looks who's early for once?' Drake must have that effect on you" Nicki gave her a stank look and there was silence.

"Alright let me call Will and he can come pick you up"

She pulled up and was met by a swarm of paparazzi. "Walter, I can't get out"

Walter got out and got the paps to move back a bit and let Nicki walk towards the entrance. Inside she saw Drake and gave him a hug.

"You better hug back so this isn't awkward for me and you" Nicki whispered and Drake immediately hugged back. They hugged long enough for the paparazzi to get a few snaps of them. They were seated at a window sear on purpose.

"So what would you like to," The waitress began to say then looked up and saw who she was serving.

"Oh my God, aren't you Drake? I love your songs so much and I bought both of your albums" Drake smiled at her and Nicki stared at the waitress as she spoke.

"Nice to know you're a fan, what about an autograph?" The waitress gave him her notepad and he quickly signed it for her.

"What about we order?" Nicki said.

"Oh. So what do you want Drake?"

"I'll have today's special"

"Anything for you Dra,"

"Yeah and I'll have your best salad with salad dressing"

"Coming up" The waitress winked at Drake and walked off.

"What's up with you?" Drake asked as Nicki took a sip of her water.

"I don't know what you're talking about"

"When the waitress came over, you were a little rude. Were you upset because she didn't acknowledge you or recognise who you are?"

"Shut up!"

"You know if you keep acting like this, this relationship is going to go nowhere"

"In case you forgot this isn't a relationship" Nicki smiled at him as a camera flash shun from outside the window. When their food came, they ate in silence until Nicki started another conversation.

"Can I try some?"

"Hell no, you should have got your own"

"We're still being watched so"

"That is your excuse for everything but here" He picked up some of his food with his fork and fed it to her.

"Be truthful with me. What do you honestly think about this fiasco?"

"At first I was angry at the fact I had to date someone no one had heard of but I heard some of your songs and they're not that bad. After I heard about the reason, I cheered up. You need this more than I do"

"I'll take the compliment so thanks"

"I wouldn't" He mumbled under his breath. "What about you?"

"Just mad about having to possibly spend a year dating an asshole that I cannot stand"

"I could say the same about you"

They finished eating and waited for the receipt which Drake paid for bring the gentleman he is. As they were walking out Drake held his hand out and Nicki gazed at it before taking it and they walked out hand in hand.

"Drake! Drake! Are you two dating?"

"Nicki! Is he your boyfriend?"

Ignoring the questions, they kept their heads down until they reached their vehicles.

"See you" Drake said letting go of her hand. Nicki got into the car that was waiting for her and Lydia was there waiting.

"So?"

"It was okay but he's still an asshole"

To avoid any confusion, when Nicki searched about her and Drake. Paps saw them walk out the same building and assumed something was going on. Short introduction or whatever to my new short story, 3 comments please :)
